Château de Lionne - Graves - 2022

Graves

Domain story

It is in the heart of Graves, a few kilometers from the Garonne, in the town of Illats, that the 37 hectares of Château de Lionne are nestled. Since 2007, the year the property was taken over by Véronique Smati, the vineyard has received the most attentive care to restore this vintage to its former glory.

Véronique Smati, supported by a quality team including oenologist Grégory Dalla Longa (trained by Denis Dubourdieu), strives to put the freshness of the magnificent Graves terroir into bottles.

Appellation: Graves

Graves is extensive, covering over 3,600 hectares of vineyards.

The maritime influence from the nearby Atlantic Ocean tempers the climate. This promotes the gradual ripening of grapes, contributing to the complexity of the wines.

Known for both red and white Bordeaux blends. Reds often showcase Cabernet Sauvignon dominance, while whites feature a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The gravelly soils impart distinct minerality to the wines.
