Château Lamothe-Bergeron - Haut-Médoc 2017
Haut-Médoc
Domain story
Lamothe-Bergeron is one of the historic Médoc wine estates and was already considered a leading Cru bourgeois Supérieur back in the 19th century, a status that was confirmed one again in 2020.
In the hands of the Lauste and Martel families, it has been passed down from generation to generation until Jacques de Bergeron.
He is interested in nature and agronomy, and he finds in Lamothe, where the
cultivation of vines has been documented since at least the 17th century, a formidable field of experimentation. Over the decades from 1970 to 2010,
Lamothe-Bergeron changed hands three times. The vineyard is restructured, the mix of grape varieties adjusted and the winery facilities renovated.
In 2015, the castle opened up to wine tourism, and in 2019, CAPSSA acquired the estate with great ambitions: to advance the wine, be even more demanding in environmental matters, and enrich the wine tourism
experience.
